Letter- SAMHSA, Proposed Regulations
We are providing AATOD’s response to SAMHSA’s proposed regulations, which give OTPs greater clinical discretion in treating our patients. As will be noted in reading the letter, we are supportive of many of the recommended changes and have expressed concern about a number of the recommendations. As an example, we do not think that it is wise to give newly admitted patients take-home medication following the first day of treatment.
