After spending her adolescent years in and out of institutions and involved with the juvenile justice system, Brooke entered into long-term recovery from a substance use disorder at the age of 24, and now uses her experience to serve others in her hometown of Philadelphia. Brooke writes and blogs on recovery policy topics, teaches at a community college, and is a manager at a licensed treatment center. Brooke has conducted trainings at organizations across the country, and is an accomplished public speaker. She holds a B.A. from West Chester University of PA, and a MSW from the U.Penn.
