The conference theme, Advancing & Integrating Specialized Addiction Treatment & Recovery, focuses on realizing the goals of Medication Assisted Treatment in a Comprehensive Hub setting.  AATOD has a history of providing an outstanding conference experience filled with state-of-the-art training and cutting edge information for medication assisted treatment providers, policy makers, peers and advocates.  Our planning committees are working diligently to ensure a fascinating event.

The AATOD Conference is the largest gathering of the opioid treatment community. This conference brings innovative people together in a diverse array of forums and workshops.  Hot Topic Roundtable discussions, inspirational plenary sessions, in-person and virtual tours of programs, and exhibit booths with the latest technologies, science and products that support our work are just a few of the activities that will surely stimulate participant discussion, debate and innovative ideas to take back home to our respective areas of work, our communities, and our treatment programs nationwide.

On behalf of AATOD’s Board, our hosts, and our planning committee, we hope that you will join us for an unforgettable opportunity to interact with some of the leading national and international experts regarding medication-assisted treatment, health care reform, integrating systems of delivery, and our response to an ever-increasing public health crisis.

Conference Objectives:

  • To present the latest evidence relevant to the field and critically evaluate the implications for patients, clinicians, administrators, and policy makers
  • To disseminate evaluation and treatment techniques to better serve patients and providers, improve program development and administration, and enhance patient outcomes
  • To develop strategies to assist healthcare partnerships and collaborations by advancing their understanding of medication assisted treatment as a crucial element to community wellness in an era of healthcare reform
  • To improve the collaboration between opioid treatment programs and community partners in response to the heightened risks associated with the use of opioids
  • To formulate methods to promote, support, facilitate, and integrate medication assisted treatment into the judicial and penal systems, government, and social service organizations
  • To discuss the magnitude and impact of prescription opioids on the healthcare system and Opioid Treatment Programs
