Dear Friends, Colleagues, Supporters and Partners,

I am pleased to welcome you to our Association’s updated website as we prepare for our approaching conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The conference will convene at the downtown Marriott Hotel, which is located in an accessible area of Philadelphia. It is our hope that you will find our site helpful in better understanding our work, which focuses on a number of initiatives to expand access to quality care in our field. We continue to devote many of our efforts to increasing access to care in much-needed communities, as well as rural and other underserved areas of our country.

While opioid-related deaths have continued to decline, we still face a serious opioid use epidemic, which is why increasing access to care continues to be one of our major priorities.

We are also working closely with our federal and state regulatory partners as our field implements the new SAMHSA regulations that govern the work of OTPs throughout the United States. We are working with treatment providers and state regulatory partners as we learn more about people coming into treatment and remaining in treatment as patients experience greater flexibility in the care that they are receiving.

We hope that you are able to learn more about our field through our website, and we encourage you to reach out if you have any questions.

With best regards,

Mark W. Parrino, MPA
AATOD President
