Webinar Description:
This webinar aimed to do the following:
- feature speakers, who have been operating mobile van services for many years;
- provide details on federal and state funding support in developing such van systems;
- discuss the cost of purchasing such vans from leading manufacturers;
- provide updates on reimbursement mechanisms to support the use of such vans for patients, who have Medicaid/Medicare eligibility; and
- beginning the development of Best Practice Guidelines in using such vans to extend the reach of OTPs.
Claire Brennan and Scott Brinks of the DEA were the first set of speakers, followed by three experienced administrators, who have operated mobile vans for well over 10 years. Michael Santillo of the John Brooks Recovery Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and Sean Soth, along with Catherine Perez, of the Evergreen Treatment Program in Seattle, Washington, provided the “how to” part of this webinar. Finally, Dr. Patti Juliana of SAMHSA/CSAT provided policy guidance to the field in addition to Anne Herron of SAMHSA, who provided guidance on accessing funding.
