Michael is a licensed Master of Social Work, a licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and is also certified by CCB as an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

He graduated from SUNY Empire College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Community and Human services. He is also a graduate of Adelphi University in New York where he earned his Master of Social Work degree.

Mr. McKinney has a wide range of experience in addiction services that include Methadone Maintenance Program Management at Beth Israel Medical Center New York City, Gracie Square Hospital Dual Focus Unit and The Medical Arts Hospital Detox facilities also in New York.

In Connecticut he served as Intensive Outpatient Program Supervisor, Suboxone Treatment Supervision and Clinical Supervisor for McDonough House, MCCA residential rehab. He held the position of Program Director for Liberation Programs in Bridgeport CT. for 7 plus years. He maintains a Private practice in Danbury CT for the past 9 years and is a Certified National Trainer for the use of Suboxone issued by NIDA/SAMHSA.
