Liberty Martinez Bird serves as the president of the Oregon Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (OATOD) and represents Oregon on the board for the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD). Liberty has been working in the field of substance use and mental health disorder treatment for over 24 years. She has a master of science in Mental Health Counseling. Liberty is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and certified as an addictions counselor in the state of Oregon (CADCIII). Her professional experience includes adolescent residential substance use treatment, adult and adolescent drug court treatment, community mental health treatment, outpatient substance use disorder treatment, and Opioid Treatment Programs. Liberty is currently the Director of Opioid Treatment Programs for CODA Inc. in Portland, Oregon and has been in this role for the last 5 years. She also oversees CODA’s residential mental health programs including a program where the residents are under the supervision of the psychiatric review board.
